Abstract
Speaker Kaihui LIU
Dr. Kaihui Liu is currently a Professor of Physics, Peking University. He got his bachelor degree from Beijing Normal University in 2004 and his PhD degree from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, under Prof. Enge Wang in 2009. After that he worked as a postdoctoral fellowin Prof. Feng Wang’s group in Department of Physics, UC Berkeley. In 2014, he joined Peking University as the National Thousand Youth Talents Plan Professor of China.
Dr. Kaihui Liu’s main research interests are the controllable growth and optical characterization of novel nano-materials, especially 1D carbon nanotubes and 2D materials. His main contribution includes: (1) high-throughput polarization-based optical imaging and spectroscopyof single nanotubes; (2) local element feeding technique for thecontrol of growth dynamics in 2D materials;(3) growth and application of meter-sized 2Dsingle-crystals. He has published more than 120 scientific journals, including correspondence-authored Nature, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Chemistry, Nature Photonics and PNAS. He currently servesas the associate editor for Science Bulletin.
