Dr. Cheol-Joo Kim has worked in the department of chemical engineering, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) as an assistant professor, since 2017. He got his bachelor degree (2006), and PhD degree (2011) from the department of materials science and engineering, POSTECH. After that, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the chemistry department, Cornell University from 2011 to 2016.

His research focuses on studying novel electrical and optical properties of nano-materials designed at the molecular level, including molecules and low dimensional materials with complex heterostructures. Based on fundamental understanding of structure dependent properties, he aims at developing a materials engineering platform, that is useful for the fabrication of novel device architectures for next-generation IT technology, including biocompatible electronics, flexible photonic crystals and nanoscale chemical sensors.
