SpeakerTom Gregorkiewicz

Tom Gregorkiewicz is a professor of Optoelectronic Materials at the Van der Waals–Zeeman Institute, University of Amsterdam. He earned his PhD in 1980 at the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences on the subject of defect spectroscopy in silicon. In 1989 he has joined the faculty of the University of Amsterdam where he is a research group leader. He is also professor on personal title by nomination of the President of the Republic of Poland, and a guest professor at the Osaka University. He serves as a senior associate editor of the NPG journal Light: Science & Applications. His current scientific interests concern optical properties of semiconductor nanostructures with an eye on possible applications in optoelectronics, photonics and photovoltaics. abstract
