Brief Bio: (max. 150 words)
Tomas Edvinsson is working in the field of photoactive materials for sustainable energy applications. He has been working with density functional theory calculations on dyes and semiconductors in molecular solar cells as well as energy alignment in triplet-triplet annihilation systems for solar energy up-conversion. Presently, he is mainly working with synthesis of low-dimensional semiconductors for photocatalysis. The recent research touches on both fundamental investigations of optical quantum confinement in the ZnO and Fe2O3 system as well as device development of CIGS (Copper-indium-gallium-(di)selenide) based solar fuel generation. In recent research, his group demonstrated stable devices with modified CIGS materials with over 10% solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency. Edvinsson is also working with materials development and device physics for hybrid Perovskite Solar Cells.
